The Heart of the Extra Mile Mission is the same heart that Jesus describes in the book of Matthew chapter five:

³⁸ “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ ³⁹ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. ⁴⁰ And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. ⁴¹ If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles.⁴² Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.

The world then was not too much different than it is now. Today we deal with a world whose currency is ‘eye for eye, and tooth for tooth’. As followers of Christ, though, we are called to show that there is a better way, Heaven’s way of treating people. We go the Extra Mile in our lives to love and serve others so that the ultimate mission of Christ is fulfilled, to bring people into the family of God. That’s our calling, and that’s the heart of the Extra Mile Mission.
