Pastor Maury and Gail Davis and Family
Maury Davis became the senior pastor of Cornerstone Church in Nashville in February of 1991. He arrived in Nashville with his wife Gail and his triplets--Gabrielle, Danielle and Galen--who were born in 1986. A fourth child, their son Dillon, was added to the family in 1994.
Previously, Maury had begun his ministry in 1983 as a janitor at Calvary Church in Irving, Texas, before become the administrative assistant to the pastor; then he later married Gail on the same day that he was installed as youth pastor. After four years of leading a growing youth ministry, Maury, Gail and the kids traveled throughout the United States for revivals, youth camps, conventions and public school assemblies.
Feeling the call of God in 1990, he came to Nashville, not knowing he would be invited to candidate for the small and struggling Cornerstone Church. A congregation of 250 people on prime real estate--but overloaded with debt and in a difficult situation financially--invited them in and the miracles began to happen.
Today, decades later, the church has not only survived but thrived. With over 2,000 church buildings resourced in Kenya, six church plants in the Nashville area, one in Bowling Green Kentucky, one in Hamilton, Tennessee, and one in Frisco, Texas, Cornerstone has reached globally, nationally and locally to establish ministry points for the lost and hurting. Each week, he preaches on the local CBS channel through the InFocus television ministry to an average of over 125,000 people in Middle Tennessee.
He has appeared on TBN, Daystar, TCT and other major Christian networks and programming. During his ministry, he has opened in prayer for the Tennessee State House of Representatives, traveled to Washington, DC to open the United States Congress in prayer and has been a guest at the White House with the National Day of Prayer ministry.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Southwestern Assemblies of God University, is a faculty member for the Sam Chand Leadership Institute and is a Master Coach with Dream Releaser Coaching, based in Atlanta.
He and Gail live outside of Nashville on a beautiful farm where their children, all now married, and their grandchildren gather regularly to enjoy family time.
He travels and speaks on a regular basis and has created a coaching/consulting firm for the purpose of investing in pastors and churches who are stuck and standing still on the journey to a greater destiny.
Reaching the lost is his passion; loving the church is his joy.
