Gary was raised in church and saved at a young age. But during decades of battling with alcohol, it didn’t seem like God was there. Gary had a couple of failed marriages, lost his driver’s license after 13 DUI’s, and was laid off from a great job with TVA when they down-sized. He spent ten years homeless.

How could the Lord use these things for good? The Lord began to soften Gary’s heart several different ways. Gary began attending services under the Jefferson Street Bridge where he got a hot meal and a warm embrace. At the same time, he began to watch the INFOCUS television broadcast from Cornerstone Church.

The Word placed in his heart during his childhood began to stir Gary. One Tuesday night after a long absence, Gary returned to the minstry under the bridge, only to see the preacher he had been watching on TV! Pastor Maury Davis had been invited to be the guest speaker that night. Coincidence...or God? From that one encounter, Gary got a bus ride to Cornerstone Church, found forgiveness and deliverance, got a job in maintenance with the church, got an apartment, and has since joined the Cornerstone Church Choir.

Gary has been an inspiration to us all!
